ICAR-IIWBR करनाल के निदेशक डॉ. रतन तिवारी के अनुसार अगेती किस्में अक्टूबर के आख़िर से नवंबर के पहले हफ़्ते तक, समय पर बोई जाने वाली किस्में नवंबर के पहले से तीसरे हफ़्ते तक और पछेती किस्में नवंबर के आख़िर से मध्य दिसंबर तक बोनी चाहिए। देर से बुवाई पर पकते समय की गर्मी पैदावार घटाती है।1 अपने इलाके के ज़ोन की किस्म ही चुनें और बुवाई से पहले मिट्टी की जाँच कराएँ।12According to Dr Ratan Tiwari, Director of ICAR-IIWBR Karnal, early varieties should be sown from end-October to the first week of November, timely varieties in the first to third week of November, and late varieties from end-November to mid-December. With late sowing, heat near maturity cuts the yield.1 Choose only your zone's variety and test the soil before sowing.12

करनाल (हरियाणा) के लिए पिछले सीज़न में DBW-327, DBW-371, DBW-372, DBW-187, DBW-303, DBW-222, DBW-386, PBW-872, PBW-826 और HD-3386 की सिफ़ारिश की गई, और पछेती बुवाई के लिए DBW-771।12 ICAR ने अक्टूबर 2025 में 23 गेहूं और 5 जौ किस्मों की पहचान की; इनमें PAU की PBW 906 (सेंट्रल ज़ोन) और PBW 915 (उत्तर-पूर्वी मैदानी ज़ोन) रतुआ-रोधी और ज़्यादा पैदावार वाली बताई गईं।3 गुजरात और दूसरे राज्यों के किसान अपने ज़िले की किस्म कृषि विज्ञान केंद्र से पक्की करें।For Karnal (Haryana), last season's recommendations were DBW-327, DBW-371, DBW-372, DBW-187, DBW-303, DBW-222, DBW-386, PBW-872, PBW-826 and HD-3386, with DBW-771 for late sowing.12 In October 2025 ICAR identified 23 wheat and 5 barley varieties; among them PAU's PBW 906 (Central Zone) and PBW 915 (North-East Plain Zone) were described as rust-resistant and high-yielding.3 Farmers in Gujarat and other states should confirm their district's variety with the Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

The window for timely varieties has passed. Choose a late variety and finish sowing before mid-December so grain fills before the March heat.1 Also check wheat's new MSP and crop insurance: Rabi MSP 2027-28 and PM Fasal Bima rabi 2026-27.
